Book suggestions

I love reading other people's experiences, especially when this involves parents trying to cope with the kids leaving home. I once came across a father who thought he was really tough until that moment when he had to say goodbye to his son. That very moment exposed his soft underbelly and he literally struggled to hold back tears.

While reading his story, I stumbled upon a review of the book The Empty Nest: How to Survive and Stay Close to your Adult Child by Celia Dodd and now I have added it to my 'reading-list'. We all need the right approach when interacting with our adult children.

That looks like a good read and yes, reading the experiences of other people gives another perspective of how to tackle issues related to the empty nest. I haven't been an avid reader (lately) but I hope to read this soon.
