Have you ever looked at old pictures of yourself and wondered who that person was?  I don't even recognize myself sometimes.  I was fairly good looking and involved in so much.  These days I'm much heavier, have gray hair and not as involved.  It's kind of depressing at times.

I've been there, BettyBoop. It can get depressing sometimes. I'm trying to be more positive these days and use those photos as inspiration to get back in shape, start going out more with friends, etc. It's easier said than done, but it's totally worth the effort.

I agree Betty.  My mom, from day 1, always told me how fat I was.  When I look back on older pictures, I realize I was not fat.  I was fairly good looking.  I think she wanted some petite little girl and instead got a healthy tom boy that would rather be outside with my daddy than in the house.  Unfortunately, I have lived up to her expectations.  I have packed on tons of weight over the years and it's very difficult to lose.

I'm so sorry to hear that, Kidless. It's awful when mothers make their children feel inferior, especially when there's absolutely no reason to do so. (But really, it's just awful no matter what.) At least you are able to look back on those photos with a fresh perspective and realize that her comments were completely unjustified.
