Keeping a journal
« on: December 20, 2017, 01:10:41 PM »
Does anyone else here keep a journal? I recently started writing down my thoughts and bits of advice and so on so that I can leave the journal to my daughters. Is that a good idea?

I recently read some of my mom's journal and it was very enlightening.  It really helped me to understand some of what she went through earlier in her life.  So to answer your question; yes it's a good idea to keep a journal.  I started one some time ago but find myself being inconsistent.  I really need to do better.

That's really good to know. I have also started looking into this 'Digital Afterlife' thing that I am hearing good things about. This is where you leave a video, audio or written blog in digital form and they can deliver stuff you left there to your loved ones up to 50 years after you're gone.

I used to keep a journal back in the day and it was really funny going back to read my thoughts later on. For how long have you kept yours? I think I need to get my groove back.

What a fantastic idea, I think that's excellent! I know of folks who love keeping a journal, but I am terrible at keeping journals. I end up wanting to write too much and it ends up a rambling of words instead of an organized account. But that is such a great and unique gift, the gift of your wisdom.
