The book vs the film
« on: October 23, 2017, 01:36:04 AM »
Last night my husband and I were debating whether we preferred the book or the film in a certain different cases. And I realised that I don’t think there is a single time when I prefer the film to the book.

How about you? And suggestions of a better film ?

I have always perfered the book to the movie so if I see an author with a new book out and know he/she's books usually go to movies, if I want to see the movie then I don't read the book. And of course if I have already read the book, I don't usually go to see the movie. But that's just me.

I always encouraged my students to read the book before they saw the film.  So much is generally left out of the film that it sometimes changes the story entirely  The only film I ever saw that was almost word for word with the book was The Lion, the Witch and the Wardrobe by C.S. Lewis.  Check it out if you haven't seen it but read the book first.   :13:

I watched a tv adaptation of the lion the witch and the wardrobe a few years ago. It was split into about six parts so it was very long but it was utterly magical.
