Mother-in-law definitely needs a hearing aid

I know I shouldn't laugh but sometimes it's pretty funny.  My mother-in-law doesn't hear what you say and thinks you are saying something else.  I'll say, "did you take your cholesterol pill?"  She'll say something like, "what did Harry spill?"  I've mentioned hearing aids before but she said no.  Now I think she's realizing that she isn't hearing the TV or her husband.  She's probably happy she can't hear her husband but she loves her TV shows.  We'll have to make an appointment for her to get fitted.

I can remember as a young person spending the day with my grandparents. Grandma would ask grandpa a question and not hear him when he answered her. She would then proceed to holler at him for ignoring her and he would just stand there looking at her. He didn't know what he had done to make her mad.

Sometimes it is hard to admit that we need an external device to help us in our daily life. I remember my mother always refused to get a hearing aid even though she clearly needed one.
