Title: Meeting Men for Friendship?
Post by: Krista on June 20, 2018, 04:46:27 AM
I'm not sure I'm ready for a romantic relationship yet, but I'd like to meet some new people.  I'd like to meet a few kind men to be friends with before I jump into the dating scene again.  I'm not sure where the best places to meet new friends are these days, though.  I'm not into the bar scene.  Where do you meet kind men who are interested in friendship and taking things slowly?

Well, there are quite a number of gentlemen out there. I have met most of my male friends through other people and I think there is a higher chance of making friends through taking part in common activities like volunteering and/or camping.

Volunteering is a great idea, Ava. You could try taking adult classes at your community college, like photography, writing, language, etc. Whenever I go play Top Golf I usually see quite a few men playing together. I haven't noticed if they're single or not, but it could be a good place to meet someone. It's a lot of fun too!

If finding a man that fits your criteria will help you with gaining more emotional stability, then try to find a nearby chapter of Emotions Anonymous. It's a real thing, has been around since 1966 and gaining more emotional stability for whatever reason is what they are about.

Men who attend those meetings are typically sensitive and are going through something that probably does not call for an immediate relationship. Chances are, they just want a friend or two as well. Just someone they can talk to.

If I were you, then I will go to a place where I enjoy the activities in that place. I love bowling so I will invite one of my friends who also like bowling and I might meet someone in that place who has the same interest as me.

Thank you, everyone!  These are all fantastic ideas.

I especially love the idea of taking a class.  I really enjoy learning new things, and it would be a great place to make friends.  I have a local community college that offers classes for a small fee.  I'll check to see what they have coming up.

My Spanish skills have gotten very rusty since college, and I'e been meaning to brush them up, so maybe I'll start with a Spanish class.
