Title: Home Care for me!
Post by: SeniorLady on July 01, 2017, 03:41:07 PM
Or at least I hope so if it ever comes to that. I know I took care of my mother until she passed (several years ago). She moved in with us as we had the extra room after the kids were all on their own. She just wasn't able to get around very well on her own and I think she appreciated being with us and not in a care facility.

I do know of some that have actually moved into some that were still able to get around some on their own. They just liked having a lot of others around and doing some of the many things that they do for the ones that are still able to take care of themselves up to a point. So, guess it just boils down to the person and if there is someone to take care of them at home.

My mother lives with me and she has Alzheimer's. She is 72 and is in the mid/moderate stages. I plan on keeping her with me as long as possible. I am just not sure what I will do when she gets to the point that she is bedfast and requires a lot of lifting because neither my husband or I can do this due to our own health problems. I am praying that time won't come for a long time and if it does I can get some type of home care help because I simply do not want to have to place her in a nursing home facility.

God bless you people for taking care of your loved ones.  I just hope when it's our turn, someone will be there for us.
