Title: Is job hunting easier for other people?
Post by: girlchild34 on January 07, 2019, 01:10:36 PM
My son could soon be changing jobs. This is his third job in less than 5 years and this makes me wonder, is it normally easier for some people to land well-paying jobs or it all depends on their level of commitment and/or drive? On the hand, my daughter isn't ready to change jobs anytime soon because she feels at home at her current workplace.

That's a good question! Personally I think it is up to the individual. Sometimes they get lucky and find the right job at the start then there are times after you have been there awhile you realize it's not what you were looking for. Now if they were changing more then once or twice a year that might be a commitment issue.

Hopefully he will find what he is looking for soon and be happy with it.

In my experience, it is NEVER easy to land a great job. If you have that mindset, it's going to be even harder to find. Nothing good just lands in your lap (unless you're super lucky such as winning the lottery, but what are the chances of that happening?) Hard work is the only way to keep moving forward.

That is a good question. I think everyone's situation is unique. I think some get lucky and find the job that's the perfect fit right off the bat while it takes others some time and changing jobs before they find one that's a good fit.

After being a stay-at-home mom for 18 years, I am just now putting myself back on the job market. I have no idea what I'll end up doing, but I don't expect to necessarily find my dream job right away. Right now, I'd be happy with a part-time job that's relatively enjoyable to help me stay occupied and keep my mind off things.

In the past two months, two of my friend's children have changed jobs. There could be an element of luck in some instances but I think it starts and ends with the commitment and persistence involved. At the end of the day, it depends on the qualifications and levels of experience.
