Title: A Romantic Retreat
Post by: GrownChildMother on June 05, 2017, 01:25:37 AM
I would love to find some place where my hubby and I could go to alone just for a few days. I think it would do us some good to have a little romantic retreat with each other. I am going to start looking for places like this in our area to see what is available. Have any of you ever done this? Did it turn out to be a good experience?

I had a friend that use to rent a cabin, and after reading how you grew up roaming the woods and all,  I bet you'd like that.  What do you think?

Some friends of mine have a timeshare cottage in Florida next to the beach that they go to 3-4 times a year. This is just like a home away from home for them and gives them a chance to forget about their other stresses and responsibilities for a little while. I don't know if you would want to invest in this, but it might be something to consider.

That sounds amazing to me! I am glad you mentioned that MaryB! There happens to be a state resort park here called Carter Caves State Resort Park and they rent out cabins. I had not even thought of that til now, but I am definitely going to check into it. :)

I think it's a good idea for couples to get away from it all by themselves every now and then. My wife and I love to go to Sanibel Island on the west coast of Florida, it lies off of Fort Myers. We found this gem some years back by chance, and have returned often as a retreat for ourselves. The Gulf of Mexico is beautiful!

We try, as much as possible, to go for these retreats and I can say they are useful for every couple out there. We don't go to any specific location but I'd love to visit Peru soon because of the recommendation from my friends. You may also want to check places outside of your neighbourhood.

I have never gone on a romantic retreat. However, I'm sure that you'll find somewhere great to go and both of you will enjoy it.

Yes! We do this often. It's always a great time. I love being alone with him with no cares. I say do it! It will be so worth it.
