Staying connected to your faith
« on: September 16, 2019, 02:54:53 AM »
So, this weekend was the first time I went to church in a long time. I am a Christian, but I think I kind of lost my faith these past years, so going to church was great to feel refreshed and reconnected. How often do you go to church (if you do believe) and does it help you? What do you do outside of church to stay connected to God?

I am a believer, and the beauty of going to church is getting a chance to converse with the creator. Nothing feels as refreshing as getting to worship and being in the company of like-minded people. I am glad you felt rejuvenated and refreshed.

I've attended church weekly for my entire life.  My thoughts about God have changed over time, and, quite honestly, I think I go every week out of fear.  If there's a meaningful, thought-provoking sermon, I do enjoy listening.  It's also nice to see familiar faces every week.  I do believe in God, and I do believe He speaks to me at times through random thoughts that pop into my head that can only be His words and nothing that would have occurred to me on my own.  I hope you continue to reconnect deeper with God, and I'm sure He was glad to see you back.

My husband and I are believers, too. We used to make it a point to go to church together as a family every Sunday. Now that my kids are all gone, I haven't been going to church as often. I really should make it a weekly habit again because it really does put me in a good frame of mind for the week.

This is exactly how I feel. It made me feel refreshed and left me wondering why I haven't gone in so long. I do believe that your faith shouldn't stop once you set foot out of the church, but going there was just different.
