Any used a dietitian to get healthy?

I’ve had some pretty severe gut issues over the past few years. I’ve been to 2 gastrointestinal doctors and had 2 colonoscopies. Neither one could figure out what the problem was. So frustrating! I found a gut specialist dietician near me and am going to see her on Tuesday. Just curious, have any of you tried to basically change your entire diet this way? I need to lose weight as well, so I’m hoping she can help me out with that.

I have never seen a dietitian myself, but I know they can be very helpful. Please let us know how it goes. I really hope she can help you start to feel better!

How is the role of a dietitian different from that of a nutritionist? I have always assumed that they do the same thing, but from your post, it seems the former offers more. Hopefully, she will provide the solution you need.

I think there isn’t much of a difference. She is having me do some lab work to test for different things. I’ve met with her once and she got all of my history. Very in depth. Next week we will start meal planning.

I have never used a dietitian before, though I have thought of it. Some of my friends have tried it and as far as I know they are pretty satisfied.
