Tense Muscles
« on: August 03, 2019, 07:15:02 AM »
I've been feeling really anxious over my son's departure a lot lately. I notice my body being tense, and my muscles hurt as a result. I think I need to schedule a massage, but what other ways are there to relieve the tension in my body?

I know it sounds a bit cliche but the best that works for me is doing more physical exercises. Jogging, for example, could be a good idea that I think you might want to try.

Near the end of taking a shower, I make the water hotter and let it run just on my sore muscles. Warm baths help, too.

Even though I haven't experienced this, muscle tension is the most common symptom of anxiety. Just like LeeAnn says, a hot shower is often a good remedy. Also, getting a massage from a skilled person who can feel the knots can help decrease the discomfort.
