Most of us are at that point where we want to watch everything we eat but apart from food with empty calories, high-sodium foods, caffeine and sugary drinks, which others suggestions have you recently come across? I stumbled upon an article that stated that grapefruit isn't advisable for anyone taking certain medications to treat insomnia, anxiety or high blood pressure.

I get mixed messages about red meat. It can be high in fat and cholesterol, yet it has decent amounts of iron, protein, and B vitamins. I try eating it less often, but it's hard.

I notice there are a lot of articles out there giving contradictory suggestions for what we should eat or should not eat. It's somehow confusing and I don't really know which articles are more trustworthy.

Hey noodle, I think that red meat gets its fair share of criticism because I have never come across any positive comments. Either way, it has been a while since I took it because white meat is, without doubt, more nutritious and beneficial to the body.

Adanna, what you say is very true and so I only get information from reputable websites and/or research journals. There is a lot of misinformation and misinterpretation of facts and the majority of people are falling for it.

It seems like what we should and shouldn't eat is forever changing. One thing that I've seen remain the same is to watch sodium intake.

Red meat gets a lot of criticism. I eat it occasionally but eat more poultry these days. Fish is supposed to be good for our health, but too much can be dangerous. 

I think most things in moderation are okay. Fruits and vegetables are always good go-to healthy snacks.
