Since my daughter left, I often think about the time when I was young and leaving my family home. It was much harder for various reasons, one of them being a much worse financial situation and another the lack of ways to communicate with someone far away. It's a little bit sad when I think about how hard it must have been for my family, but I'm still happy that my daughter has it better.
