People who talk too much

Have you met people who talk continuously without caring to listen to other people? I have lost count of the number of such people that I have encountered. Figuring out how to handle them can be an uphill task because they also don't like being ignored. Which is the best way of dealing with such?

These types of people are drawn to me because I'm the opposite; I prefer to listen and not talk. Too much talking drives me bananas though. I find the best way to end the conversation is to tell the person it was nice talking to them (doesn't have to be true  :jiggly smiley: ) and then do something that clearly shows your attention is now elsewhere such as opening a book or putting on headphones.

Oh yes,   you ask a simple question or make a simple remark and they have to unleash on you 20 minutes of their opinion or their experience!   Ugh..    If at all possible that's where a text comes in,  they keep it short then!

I also seem to attract these kind of people and the best way is to politely 'ignore' them or do something else that makes them realize your attention is elsewhere. I wish we all took time to read other people's body languages before engaging them.
