Inconsiderate Visitors
« on: March 25, 2019, 10:57:14 PM »
I had a moving company do a walk-through of my home today to prepare for the big move on Friday. It was raining outside, so the man that came into my home had muddy boots and started to track mud ALL OVER MY FLOOR!  :blue weird smiley:  I was steamed, to say the least. I managed to politely tell him he was making my floors dirty and could he please take off his shoes. He seemed embarrassed and rushed to take them off, but really, how could he be so oblivious?

Well for me I might be hesitate in using them if they are that inconsiderate of walking through your house without cleaning their shoes off. Makes  you wonder how they would handle your household items!

Good luck with your move, I'm sure you will be glad when it is all done and you can settle in your new place.  :039:

There was this day when it was raining outside and my friend walked in with his muddy boots. When I politely asked him to remove them, he got so mad and left soon after. It took a while for us to start talking again but we've never gone back to discussing the events of that day.

It puzzles me how some people seem to act unknowingly at times or are people simply different in the way they perceive situations?

Thanks for the well wishes! I decided to go with another company. I'm quite particular about my things, and you guys are right, if he doesn't have enough sense to take off his dirty shoes in my home, who knows what else he may do. Oh well, I'm still excited for the big day!

Through experience, I have come to the realization that at times, we overlook a few hints that can lead us to making sound decisions in certain scenarios. I am glad that you chose to go with another company and I hope that you were offered excellent service.

Ugh, I'm sorry. Your moving people are supposed to make less work for you, not more.

They probably get so into what they're doing that they forget their manners sometimes, but really, they should get into a habit of asking all their customers if they want them to take their shoes off as soon as they step into the door. For some, it's a cultural courtesy. For others, they just don't want dirt tracked all over the house. Either way, it's the polite thing to do.
