Mentoring others

Have you ever had that opportunity to hold another (young) couple's hands and either mentor or counsel them? How long had you been married before you opted to take this route? I have always thought that offering advice to other couples could actually improve your own marriage.

Oh yes there are many that call me mom, that do respect my opinion and have came to me thru times of hardships or decision making in their lives.  My son, no, but other's yes.  My husband no...  hhaha

Haha, I love the bit about your husband  . I have come across couples that mentor or counsel others while at the same time struggling with something in their marriage.

I have given my daughter advice when she's asked for it, but I've never officially mentored another married couple. I don't think my husband would be opposed to the idea. Maybe it's something we can do through our church someday.

There's nothing as great as being able to help a younger couple transition through a 'difficult' period in their marriage. We've not (necessarily) mentored another couple before but we have offered advise when it was sought by people who thought we could help them in someway.
