Holiday Traditions
« on: December 31, 2018, 02:32:37 PM »
I always miss my parents the most around the holidays. I don't get sad because the memories bring a smile to my face and warm my heart, but I still miss them nonetheless. Do you honor your parents by celebrating the traditions they taught you for Christmas, New Year, etc.?

I dont think I do things just to honor my parents, but yes indeed, I do things I grew up with.  And what fond memories it brings back.  This year though no chestnuts..   That was a let down, but no store carried them.  One store said last year every box they got in was moldy so they werent ordering any this year!   :(

Hmm, I never considered it honoring my parents per se, but I suppose it is in a way! Christmas was always a "big deal" to my mother growing up and I still have that ingrained in me.  I especially love the holidays because I get to see all of my children (they all come and visit me - I'm the host.)
