Fat blockers and carb blockers

I have a friend that's always advertising fat blockers and carb blockers on her Instagram account.  I've googled the products and read reviews and I don't think they work.  Maybe it's the brand though.  Have you ever tried a  fat blocker or carb blocker that works as advertised? I normally do okay, but the older I get, the harder I'm finding it to maintain my weight.

I've tried the FDA approved over-the-counter weight-loss pill called Alli.  It works, but there are awful side effects such as uncontrollable bowel movements.  Imagine being in public and having that happen.  I only took it twice before I thought better of it.
