Bringing my dad for a medical check-up
« on: October 24, 2018, 06:58:41 AM »
My dad complains about his stomach often these days, but he refuses to go see a doctor. I'm worried that it's just one symptom and he has other conditions we need to treat. After all, he smokes, and he doesn't exercise often.

Please help me with some tricks here!

MaryB, I'm trying to scare him a little for now. I tell him stories about people who check their conditions a little too late and how it affects them. Normally, he's not someone to be bothered by that sort of thing, but I have nothing to lose by trying.

What kind of tricks have you tried?

He sounds like my husband, too! Sometimes I ask my husband to go to the doctor just to humor me because he loves me. It does work sometimes. Sometimes men will do things for the people they love just to get them to quit nagging them. Whatever works, right?
