Making handmade crafts
« on: May 24, 2018, 06:03:48 AM »
Youtube recommended me some tutorial videos on making bracelets, earrings, brooches, etc. The hands are so skillful that I feel envious but it seems possible with enough practice. It's great that we can use or sell the items later; we get to be trendy and earn some extra income in one go!

Does any of you have experience with these crafts? What do you think?

Youtube always keeps me busy with those recommendations! I have a lifelong friend who has been creating jewelry since she was in her 20's. Of course she is very skilled so I'm not sure how much of what I see from her can be beginner's advice. I do know that tools are very important. Once you get the right material and tools, you can make some lovely pieces rather simply.
If you really would like to get into it, you can try a jewelry making class or workshop, though I think Youtube University will have all the information you might need.

I have made a few pieces of jewelry and they look nice.  However, I find I have no imagination for creating new pieces.  I always follow a pattern or a guide.  My niche is in crocheting.  Please find a jewelry making class and enjoy your new found hobby.

I think that's awesome! I've always wanted to learn how to make jewelry, but I haven't taken the time to watch any videos or take any classes yet. I'm sure it will be challenging at first, but with practice, I'm sure you'll make some beautiful pieces, horizon!

My neighbor does that (among other things, she is very crafty)  and all I can say is invest in those high powered lights and magnifying mirrors.   They make the world of difference.
