Weather Watching
« on: April 15, 2018, 01:54:08 PM »
My dad was a real weather watcher when I as a kid and I've turned into one too.  It's fun to know what's coming and prepare for rain or cold weather.  I used to buy him an Old Farmer's Almanac every Christmas. Just the other day my son saw me with this year's almanac and I told him about his grandfather.  He now knows what he can get me for Christmas every year now.  History repeats itself.

It must have been exciting to tell your son about his grandfather. We've not had a weather watcher in the family before, but I see how important this can be in knowing what's coming and in having adequate preparations. How do you watch the weather so-to-speak?

I grew up on a farm Cherie so the first thing to do is watch the animals.  Birds and squirrels feed heavily if storms are coming.  If they feed while it is raining or snowing, then we are in for the long haul.  Wind direction, temperature and humidity are also something to consider.  Of course, I watch the weather on TV and I have 2 weather apps on my phone.   :13:
