I read an article about a woman who had an island with a sink in it for cleaning vegies etc.  She was thinking that she might not need that extra space since her kids are leaving.  What is your view on your kitchen?

Personally we don't have that much room to begin with in our kitchen, but if I had an island in my kitchen I would keep it. I think it'll come in handy if you entertain or when the kids visit for the holidays.

I'd love to have an island with a sink in it. It would be so useful! We are going to redo our kitchen this year too. I'm pretty excited! Are you redoing yours too?

Not much room for us as well but what would happen if one of the children was to return? I believe it would be great if the nature of the kitchen space was such that it could easily be remodelled if the need arose.
