Dry hair and skin
« on: January 17, 2018, 09:32:55 AM »
It feels like the older I get, the drier my hair and skin gets.  My hair seems so brittle and my skin cracks.  What do you all use for hair care and skin care?

Boy do I know that feeling, especially during the winter months. For my hair, I've always been told to use shampoos and conditioners for color-treated hair because they're designed to really bring in moisture. It's always worked well for me. Watch out for really drying shampoos, too. I've had a lot of luck with the sulfate-free ones. For skin, I play around with a lot of different kinds of lotions, always make sure to get the moisturizing shaving cream, exfoliate with salt scrubs, and then, on my face, I use a lightweight moisturizer with honey.

Tell me about it! My skin is so dry too. I moisturize daily, twice a day and it's still bad. I drink a ton of water too. I just don't know what else to do.

I don't make it a habit to drink water, amsmomm, but I can see how it would help.  Guess I'd better pick up a Brita filter and get to drinking.  I use a lot of lotion, but it only helps temporarily.  Have you ever heard of Gloves in a Bottle?  It works by creating a protective film over the hands.  I thought it worked well, but it's not cheap and really only helps the hands.
