Anyone doing any kind of "side hustle"?
« on: November 21, 2017, 12:50:47 AM »
I keep bumping into that phrase, "side hustle," everywhere on the internet. I have a lot of free time on my hands and I'd like to do something to earn some extra cash on the side. Does anyone do anything online that helps them get a little extra spending money that isn't completely mindless (like filling out surveys)?

This is something I've looked for since we moved here but to no avail.  If you come up with an idea, let me know too please!   :039:

All I can say is that it is best to first identify what you are good at. Not every 'hustle' takes place online. I have a friend that uses her free time to bake cakes while another one is an excellence article writer.

Of course, it can take place anywhere! I don't really have a skillset that I think I could translate into a non-virtual commerce. But maybe I'm just not thinking outside of the box enough. Thanks for the advice!

I agree that if you want to make some extra money on the side then your best bet is to go with what you're good at. This way you don't have to go through a long learning curve.

Have you tried selling online?  There are several sites that allow you to sell you wares.  EBay comes to mind as well as Itsy,  Some sort of craft might just take off and be profitable.

I like this discussion because if there is one thing that's hard to find is an online opportunity that's legit. Having said this, I think you just have to look at the right places and invest your time in growing your skill.

I'm still trying to think of how to turn my skill set into something profitable and I'm thinking that maybe the answer is learning a new skill! I totally value eBay and do a lot of shopping there, but I prefer selling my things to people. I'm a big garage sale person. I don't know why because it's always exhausting, but I just like to see people getting my things.

I started a new journey to help other people reach their goals.  It is a really great company and they have great products (which I don't have to sell or stock).  If it sound great, it really is.  Health and wellness company manufacturer's rep.

If you don't mind driving, there's instacart and postmates. My son showed me postmates today. He turned himself "on" in the app and within 10 minutes he got a delivery request. He also said that if you live in a big city there's also a dog walking app but you have to pay 25$. But they sent you a t-shirt and leash. He won't do that one because he'd have to drive 20 miles to get any real business from it.
