Grief counseling?
« on: August 25, 2017, 05:35:33 PM »
Has anyone here tried grief counseling?  Did it seem to help?  Did you decide to go on your own or did someone else strongly encourage it?  I've suggested grief counseling or a support group to a loved one, but it was non-starter.

I don't have personal experience, but I believe grief counseling would help someone a great deal.  If nothing else it's someone to listen who won't judge or throw out pointless cliches.  I've tried to get my mother to go, but she won't hear of it.

I have never had grief counseling specifically, but I have been in counseling before and it helped more than I thought it would. I think that anyone who wants to should try it, you have nothing to lose.
