Azaleas !

Love this new topic!  I guess this would be for those that are in the south? I really want to plant some of these, they are so pretty when they bloom and are nice fillers for areas in your  yard that need 'something'. I'm just not sure how to do this? I tried once before but they all died. :(  I know they can take some shade and sun but do they need something special added to the soil around them? Any help would be greatly appreciated!

I keep wanting to plant these, but I have never managed to work out how to keep one going. For such large plants they are really fragile. I do know they need lots of water and an acid soil (PH5.5), and some places suggest mulching because of the shallow roots.

If you manage to get one going please share your methods, because my garden really isn't good for them.
