Book club
« on: September 12, 2016, 03:00:34 PM »
There is a local book club at the library down the road. I love reading so I am tempted to join
But...;
.... I don't know how I feel about being told what to read and by when!
Does anyone else have this problem?!

I had this problem some time back but I talked to the book club management and we agreed on a few things. You could approach them and share your views.

Reading is an excellent way to keep the mind rejuvenated and I try to constantly maintain a reading culture.

I like the idea of a book club but, yes, I understand your dilemma. My reading appetite is quite a departure from the norm, too.

I think I would struggle to read the chosen book by the deadline. Some times I have lots of time to read, other times I can't get ten minutes to myself. And when I read I like to enjoy reading, not rush through it as quick as I can.

I think you raise a really valid point. Struggling to finish a book by the deadline helps to instill some discipline and planning of time. I always ensure that I set aside at least an hour of reading time daily.

Without commitment, book reading becomes a real struggle.
