Hard Decisions
« on: February 19, 2016, 07:10:58 AM »
Mom is almost 92 and my brother and I are beginning to get prepared for what might happen.  We are looking into assisted living and nursing homes for when the time comes.  It's not an easy task when her future is so uncertain.  Right now she's still going strong, exercising 3 times a week and driving to all the necessary places.  It's not wrong to be prepared is it?

Wow, good for her, Kidless. I hope to still be that active when that time comes. I don't think you are wrong at all to start preparing. It will make it a lot less stressful when that time comes. I'm a firm believer in having a plan in place and knowing what her wishes are so that you know you are doing the right thing if anything should happen.

Thanks for the vote of confidence Peyton.  Her short term memory isn't what it used to be but I, too, hope I'm that good at her age.  A wise old man told me once that if you're prepared, it won't happen.  I'm counting on that.  :)
